    Ceros
    VP of Engineering

As VP of Engineering, I build and scale high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence. I steer the technical direction of our product, ensuring it aligns with business goals while remaining scalable and resilient. Despite my leadership responsibilities, I actively carve out 25% of my time to code, staying hands-on with development to stay connected to the team’s challenges and contribute directly to our success.

I’ve taken three products from ideation to customer release, building teams ranging from 8 to 15 engineers in size. Beyond building and shipping products, I’ve helped coordinate the maintenance, security audits (SOC2 and ISO 27001), scaling, and monitoring of the products.

The products range from enterprise-focused (sales-led) to product-led growth apps with a free tier, serving hundreds of thousands of users, with MAUs in the tens of thousands.

    Gemma (a Ceros product)
    Director of Engineering

As Director of Engineering for Gemma.ai at Ceros, I joined an already established team and played a key role in improving processes and cultivating a strong team culture. At a time when AI was still new to many of us, including myself, we focused on building an MVP and iterating towards product-market fit for a creative AI assistant.

Working on Gemma was an invaluable learning experience, as we navigated the complexities of AI technology and iteration. Despite developing some excellent features, we faced intense competition from larger players, and customer adoption was not high enough to sustain the product on its own.

The lessons learned and technologies developed during this time were integrated into Ceros’ core products, where AI features are still in use today. Although Gemma as a standalone assistant product was phased out, its technology and innovations continue to shape the AI capabilities within Ceros’ broader offerings.

    MarkUp (a Ceros product)
    Director of Engineering

As Director of Engineering at MarkUp.io, I was a founding engineer, leading the development of the initial MVP and scaling it into a fully-fledged product. As the platform grew, I built and led a team of 10 engineers within a broader 30-person product team, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence. The greenfield nature of MarkUp allowed us to experiment, drive best practices, and apply key learnings across the wider business.

Building MarkUp was a highlight of my career, especially seeing the impact of our work through direct user feedback and a rapidly growing user base. With high MAUs and large-scale adoption, we leveraged data-driven decision-making, analyzing user behavior and running A/B tests at a scale I hadn’t experienced before—something I found incredibly rewarding.

Beyond the technology, the strong team culture made the experience even more special, and I look back fondly on those early days. The icing on the cake was seeing MarkUp.io named Product Hunt’s Developer Tool of the Year in 2021, a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication.

    ChartBlocks
    Founder

As Co-Founder of ChartBlocks, I helped build a data visualization tool from the ground up. This marked my first foray into the SaaS world, and I was quickly hooked by the challenge and the opportunities it presented. My responsibilities spanned from product development to business strategy, and I played a key role in shaping the early vision of the product.

We grew our free user base rapidly and, at our peak, ChartBlocks became the recommended tool for generating charts for content on platforms like LinkedIn and Medium. The buzz around the product was high, but despite the large number of free users, we struggled to effectively monetize and chose to remain bootstrapped. Ultimately, we transitioned ChartBlocks into maintenance mode, where it remains active but small-scale in 2025.

In 2018, ChartBlocks was acquired by Ceros, marking the end of an era for the product I had helped shape. The experience taught me invaluable lessons in product-market fit, scaling, and navigating the challenges of monetization within a rapidly growing user base.

    Copia Digital
    Technical Director (& Founder)

As Technical Director at Copia Digital, a web agency I co-founded with a close friend shortly after completing my education, I helped steer the development of websites for clients in various industries. We initially took on any project that came our way but quickly found our niche in the financial services sector, building websites for hedge funds and asset managers.

Working at an agency taught me to thrive under tight deadlines and within constrained budgets, both in terms of cost and time. The fast paced nature of these projects helped me develop strong problem-solving skills and an ability to focus on delivering results efficiently.

It was at Copia that I truly developed my craft as an engineer. While we made plenty of mistakes in the early days, the exposure to many different roles within the business, as well as the opportunity to work closely with clients, provided invaluable experience that shaped my approach in future roles.
